Carol Hinckley’s love for horses started in Reno,
Nevada at the age of 8 when her parents bought
her a Shetland pony for her birthday. After that
she discovered the thrill of jumping and soon
began taking hunter/jumper lessons every
weekend from Larry and Lois Langer’s Pacific
Horse Center in Sacramento, California.
Carol soon moved up the levels to become part
of the elite show barn and train directly under
Larry Langer. Carol had multiple Medal wins,
Junior Hunter and Junior Jumper championship
on her horse Hocus Pocus.

In her junior years she also began showing green prospects. She traveled all over the states competing in
top Medal finals and smaller Grand Prix. Carol’s continue love for the sport took her "across the pond" to
Holland where she trained and competed for the Up and Coming European jumper trainer Ankije De Jong.
After traveling around Europe and gaining an eye for talent, Carol returned home to Reno and established
her own buying/training operation.
In 1994, Carol and family moved to Snohomish Washington, where she continued her buying/training
facility. Carol changed the format of her business to include a schooling program and another trainer,
expanding into a full service "A" circuit Hunter/Jumper barn catering to everyone from the beginning rider to
the mature enthusiast.
Caitlin started her horse career at the age of 10
when she followed her sister to a riding lesson.
She knew immediately that this was what she
wanted to do with her life.
Caitlin began riding 3-4 times a week at a local
riding school and spending as much time at the
barn as she could doing chores, helping other kids
and just hanging out. She competed in local
Hunter and Jumper shows over the years
eventually competing in "A"rated shows. While
showing in the Hunter/Jumper discipline, she also
got the opportunity to go cross-country schooling
which developed into a deep love of Eventing.
After buying her first horse, Caitlin jumped right into the Eventing circuit, working her way up the levels and
competing successfully at Training Level for 3 years. As well as competing her own horse and clients'
horses, Caitlin has worked at many of the top barns in the Pacific Northwest, spending the last 8 years
teaching everything from the Hunter/Jumper, Dressage and Eventing disciplines to Western Pleasure and
Reining. Her varied background is an asset to any student. With her patient, positive and fun-loving attitude,
she is able to take students and turn them into confident, accomplished riders. Caitlin is thrilled to join the
Brick Road Farms team.
